I grabbed this video off of youtube. I felt it had a correlation with my keyword faith. Faith does not neccesarilly have a spiritual implication. Take this video for exapmle, you go on faith that if you stick with this program, you will get fit. You cannot yet see your results, but you go on faith that will work.

IRAN: 22 Bahman revolution anniversary protests surge on social networks
February 11, 2010 | 2:40 am
Internet access, phone and SMS traffic are said to be nearly at a standstill in Iran following alleged attempts by the authorities to restrict the flow of information, but messages and information as well of the opposition protests on the country’s revolution anniversary continue to trickle in at a steady pace on social networking sites such as Twitter and Facebook.
On the micro-blogging site Twitter, the hashtag #iranelection is one of the “trending” topics and users send out updates on the situation in Tehran and around the country by the minute.
Twitter user manic77 wrote that the streets leading to Tehran’s Evin prison and the state broadcasting headquarters are “blocked and controlled by special guards.”
Some of the users on Twitter send our their messages in Farsi and get their original Farsi tweets translated into English by others on the network to reach a larger audience.
Another user, i64, sent a personal message, asking his Twitter friends to wish him/her luck as he/she headed to the protests on Thursday.
Clashes between security forces and opposition supporters have taken to take place in various parts of Tehran, with unconfirmed reports saying that the security forces are using tear gas and paint ball guns against protesters.
“Security forces trying to scatter people. Heavy clashes in Fatemi, Satarkhan, Vesal, Kargar streets, Vanak and Kaj Square,” user BSalamati wrote in a tweet that was translated into English from Farsi.
Other users wrote that the clashes were “spreading” throughout Tehran and that members of the Basij pro-government militia and the police were “beating people” in Aryashahr square in Tehran.
“I heard shooting at Ashrafi Esfahani highway in Hakim Street I saw that the area was full of ppl. Cars honking,” wrote Twitter user GEsfandiari, of Radio Farda, quoting a purpoted eyewitness account.
The opposition has said an information blockade was been imposed ahead of the revolution anniversary. Phone lines are said to be extremely slow in Tehran and as well as in other parts of the country.
“In Isfahan SMS service is completely cut and mobile telephone service keeps getting cut,” wrote Twitter user dadashiii.

Blogging in itself has now become a tradtion, although its relativley new it has become a tradition nonetheless. This article is talking the government in Tehran trying to close down phone and interent lines because they don’t want revolutionary ideas thrown around on twitter. Its funny tyo see how much of a threat this government can see blogging as. Last year the Iranians used blogging to organize their political rallies. So, this tradition of blogging has risen as a way of mass communication.
I know what everyone is thinking when they look at this picture, how does this correlate to tradition? Well I feel it defines it based off of the definition i posted. This man is dressed up for a krumping competition. I randomly came across this picture as I was searching for ideas. Now, I myself can’t do that dance, but it is very interesting form of expression. This form of dance was created in LA and it has been passed on to other intrigued people to form a tradititon of krumping in based out of LA.
For my next keyword I have selected tradtion. In our keywords book tradition can be simply summarized as a passing on of something. It does not specify what, but simply passing to the next generation. Webster’s dictionary defines tradition as an inherited, established, or customary pattern of thought, action, or behavior. So, our motives and actions are all dictated by our tradition, which can vary state by state or country by country. Its interesting to see how an action or a way of thinking can be carried down the blood lines over so many years.
For my fourth artifact I have chosen the definition of art out of the keywords book. I felt that I would come across what I felt was art and see how well my defintion correlated to the books defintion. Art: refers to any kind of skill. That is pretty blunt and to the oint which I like. With all three of my artifacts they seem tome sum this up fairly well. Basically act done by somone that is skillfull or thoughful can produce a piece of art.
I pulled this link from the Los angeles Times website. It had a picture of an infared laser shot from an air defense plane that destroyed the missile. Of course one would think how could this describe art? Well thats the beauty about art there is no clear definition, but it it evokes an emotional response from you than I think it could qualify as art. To me seeing the bright explosion was an astounding picture and made me think of security because of its purpose.
here is my junxtapostion for art. I have showed them common mdeium for art with the picture, but that in istself does not fully encompise what art is. So, here I have selected a UFC fight between St. Peirre and Penn. At first glance one might no think this is art, but it is. Fighters must learn martial arts in order to be a fighter. And there we see the word art come up in the description as learning how to fight. Its art because it is an expression through physical movements.

My next keyword I have chosen is art. I am certain anyone looking at this picture is asking themselves the same question, is this art? But I feel it is applicalbe as being a piece of art for this simple reason. Anyone who creates something in the name of art will naturally love there work, so no matter how ugly a peice of work I may feel it is, there is still at least one person who loves it as art.
I came across this video on youtube. It is basically an overview of what the American Red Cross is all about. Now i feel this is a good example of what faith is. People have faith in the goodwilled nature in others to help them when they are down. The red cross is a prime example of that. For instamce, the people in Haiti, the only thing have is faith that people will help them trough there troubles. And what happened the whole world has gathered to help them.

This image in its self is quite self explanatory with regards to defining the word faith. Christian culture has used this image as a symbol of faith. It is a devotion to something, that even though you may not see it you feel it, and belive it with all your heart. I am a man of faith and by seeing this image i am constantly reminded every day of what faith truly is to me.
